Box Score CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 28, 2023) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team hosted Carolina University for a non-conference match-up, inside the Harris Athletic Complex. The Bears battled in all three matches, but ultimately fell to a final score of 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-20).
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first set saw the Bruins with an early lead (3-1), but kills from Alex Bosman and Jackson Adams, along with multiple errors by the Bruins helped the Bears offensively as they trailed 16-15. A final three-point rally, featuring a kill by Wensky Saintilmond, gave the Bears momentum, but it was not enough as TMU fell 25-21. In the second set, a kill by Adams put the Bears on the board first, while a five-point rally by the Bruins forced the Bears to work hard from behind. Kills by Saintilmond and Kyle Gregory gave the Bears a fighting chance, but TMU ultimately fell to the same fate in set two (25-12). In the final set, the Bears held their own by keeping the score close, forcing the Bruins to stay sharp. TMU showed their grit until the end, but a 25-20 score forced the Bears to fall to a final match score of 3-0.
 
LEADERS
Bosman led the way with seven kills, one service ace, four digs and a block assist. Gregory followed with three kills, six digs, two solo blocks and one block assist. Saintilmond and Adams had two kills and six digs apiece, while Jakob Lee recorded nine digs and Adam Shuman recorded three digs.

The Bears will travel to Lake Wales, Fla. on Friday, March 10, to face Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Warner University. Match time set for 7:00 p.m.
