LAKE WALES, Fla. (February 20-22, 2026) – On Thursday – Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team closed a three-match Appalachian Athletic Conference road trip in Florida with a 2-1 record, bouncing back from a loss to No. 8 St. Thomas University on Thursday to defeat Webber International in four sets on Friday and Warner University in five sets on Saturday. TMU rises to an overall record of 4-6, 4-2 AAC.

The Bears opened the weekend against a nationally ranked opponent, with STU using early service runs to take control of the first set (25-14). TMU settled in offensively during the second set, getting production from
Alex Bosman and
Adam Shuman, but the Bobcats maintained separation to move ahead, 25-12. TMU delivered its strongest performance in the third set, as
Christopher Zambrana distributed the offense in a balanced attack that kept the score tight late. Despite the late surge from the Bears, STU used a late push to complete the sweep 25-23.
LEADERS
Bosman led the Bears with five kills and added five digs. Shuman followed with four kills and two blocks. Zambrana totaled 15 assists and five digs.

TMU started the set fast, scoring the first three points of the match behind back-to-back service aces from Zambrana and never trailing in the opening set (25-19). After Webber evened the match in set two (25-17), the Bears responded in a pivotal third game. With the score tied late, kills from
Eduardo Andrade and
Alex Bosman gave TMU the edge before a clutch ace from
Troy McAlister secured the 27-25 win. In the fourth, Truett McConnell turned a mid-set deficit into a lead with a sustained scoring run fueled by blocks from Zambrana and McAlister. Bosman closed the match with multiple late kills to seal the four-set victory, 25-23.

Bosman recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 13 digs. Andrade added 11 kills, while Shuman totaled eight kills and two service aces. Zambrana finished with 40 assists, three aces, and two block assists as TMU totaled 10 team blocks and nine aces.

Saturday's finale featured a back-and-forth battle as the teams traded momentum throughout the match. Warner edged the opening set, but TMU answered in the second with kills by Bosman, Andrade, and
Jed Bailey to even the score (25-23). The Bears used their most efficient offensive stretch in the third set, posting a .360 attack percentage to take a 2-1 match lead (25-23). Warner forced a fifth set by taking the fourth, setting up a decisive frame. In the final set, a four point rally, featuring a kill by Bosman and two serving aces by Zambrana, started the game to give the Bears momentum to finish with a 15-9 win.
LEADERS
Bosman led with 20 kills and added seven digs. Shuman and Andrade finished with 11 kills each, with Shuman also totaling two blocks and a service ace. Zambrana recorded 44 assists, three aces, five digs, and a block. Defensively,
Alexi Sassier posted a team-high of 12 digs as the Bears finished with five blocks.
