KINGSPORT, Tenn. (April 17, 2025) - On Thursday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team traveled to compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament, where the No. 8 seeded Bears faced the No. 1 seed St. Thomas University in the first round. TMU played with heart, but ultimately suffered a tough loss, 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-14). The Bears conclude the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-12, 5-9 AAC. 

PLAY BY PLAY 
The Bears started set one down by four but attempted to close the gap with a serving ace from Caleb Bosveld and a kill from Bosman. Bosman recorded a kill late in set one to try to make a comeback, but it was not enough, falling in set one, 25-17. Jed Bailey recorded a kill early in the second set to give TMU the lead. Bosveld recorded three kills to put the Bears back in the game, but ultimately could not change the outcome of the set, 25–20. Adam Shuman started the third set with a kill followed by a kill by Bosveld. Shuman collected two more kills trying to turn the match around. Three final kills by Bosman attempted to recover the lead for the Bears in set three but ultimately was not enough, falling in the final set 25-14.
