CENTRAL, S.C. (March 14, 2026) - On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University Men's Track & Field team traveled to compete in the Southern Wesleyan University Gotta Run invite where the Bears recorded multiple top performances.

Leading the way on the track,
Elijah Goddard captured first place in both the 100m (10.64) and 200m (21.60) races, while
Kimal Marshall finished second in the 100m with a time of 10.77. The Bears also saw success in relay action as the 4x100 relay team of
Matthew Bryant, Goddard,
Brett Wilgus, and Marshall claimed first place with a time of 41.77, while the 4x400 relay team of
Brandyn Jackson,
Elijah Nelson,
Nathan Nix, and Bryant also secured first place, finishing in 3:23.33.

In the distance events, Nix recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800m (2:00.62), while
Obadiah Kipruto placed fifth in the 5000m (15:54.04). The Bears also found success in the steeplechase with
Gibson Horner finishing second in 10:45.22, followed by Cade McNeill in third at 11:42.68.

In hurdle events, Jackson recorded a third-place finish in the 110m hurdles (15.24) and continued his strong day in the field with a second-place finish in the long jump (6.69m) and third-place finish in the triple jump (13.88m).

In the throwing events,
Dylan Simms led the way with a first-place finish in the shot put (15.91m) and added a second-place finish in the discus (43.32m).
Michael Gilmore earned a first-place finish in the discus (46.65m) and later added a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw (43.76m).
Justus Rogers also contributed with a third-place finish in the hammer throw (43.84m).

Additional top-five finishes came from KCari Mercer, who placed fifth in the high jump (1.85m),
Jamari Jermon, who finished fifth in the long jump (6.57m), and
Tyler Crow, who recorded a fourth-place finish in the pole vault (3.60m).
