Track and Field set to open 2026 season at Life University

CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 5, 2026) – The Truett McConnell University men's and women's track and field team is set to begin their 2026 season on Saturday, where the Bears and Lady Bears will travel to compete in the Life University Superbowl Indoor/Outdoor.
 
Men's and Women's Track and Field had an impressive 2025 season, qualifying in seven total events at the 2025 NAIA National Championship including senior Dylan Simms in the Shot Put, and sophomore Elijah Goddard in the 100m and 200m dash. At the AAC Championship, the men's team finished in fourth place out of 11 teams, featuring nine podium finishes, while the women's team finished in sixth with five podium finishes. Simms was featured earning the title of AAC Field Athlete of the Year while Goddard earned the title of AAC Track Athlete of the Year in his first year as a Bear. Both the men's and women's team will be welcoming 18 incoming athletes to the track and field program.
 
Following this weekend's meet, the Bears will travel to compete in the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College on Saturday, March 7, along with competing at Southern Wesleyan University on Friday, March 13 - Saturday, March 14.
