Men's and women's track & field set to compete at nationals

MARION, Ind. (May 20, 2025) – The Truett McConnell University men's and women's track and field team is set to compete at the NAIA National Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana on May 21-23. TMU will be represented at nationals by four athletes in seven different events, including Myesha Hall in the women's long jump, triple jump, and 100m dash, Connor Morgan in the men's 800m race, Elijah Goddard in the men's 100m and 200m dash, and Dylan Simms in the men's shot-put.

The Bears are scheduled to begin competition on Wednesday with the men's 200m prelims at 5:35 p.m. (CST), followed by the women's long jump at 6:00 p.m. (CST). On Thursday, the men's 800m prelims will begin at 2:50 p.m. (CST), followed by the women's 100m prelims at 3:20 p.m, the men's 100m prelims at 3:40 and the women's triple jump at 4:30 p.m. (CST). The men's shot-put will take place on Friday at 1:00 p.m (CST). 

Hall, the 2022 NAIA Long Jump National Champion and four-time NAIA All-American, was featured securing nine first place finishes across the regular season in both the long jump, triple jump and 100m dash. Hall is currently leading the NAIA in the long jump (6.30m) while also sitting in eighth in the triple jump (12.08m) according to the latest TFRRS rankings ahead of the upcoming NAIA National Championships.

Morgan also had a successful regular season, securing two first place finishes and numerous top ten finishes. At the Joe Walker Invitational, Morgan punched his fourth consecutive ticket to the NAIA National Championship with a time of 1:51.99, the NAIA B Standard. 

Goddard, the AAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year made, has had a successful first season as a Bear, recording four first place finishes in the regular season including both the 100m and 200m Conference Champion titles. 

Simms, the AAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year, has also had an incredible regular season recording four first place finishes and multiple top ten finishes, while also earning the Individual title in the men's shot put at the AAC Championship. Simms has made TMU track and field history being the first male thrower to punch an individual ticket to nationals.
