Hall, Alamia, Babb named NAIA All-Americans, TMU concludes historical season at nationals

MARION, Ind. (May 26, 2023) - On Wednesday-Friday, the Truett McConnell University track and field qualifiers traveled to compete in the NAIA National Track and Field Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

Sophomore Myesha Hall proved a leading competitor for TMU by finishing in third in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.84m and sixth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.17m. Hall has made TMU track and field history by being the first athlete to earn the title of NAIA All-American in two events in a single season.

Sophomore Cameron Alamia followed the success with a fifth place finish in the men's 200m dash with a time of 20.97sec, while earning the title of All-American. Junior Katilyn Babb was also able to secure the title of All-American by finishing in eighth in the women's  javelin throw with a mark of 42.58m.

Collectively, this is the best finish and most All-American titles the TMU track and field program has ever seen in a single season.

"This season has been one of personal records, national qualifiers and school records," said Head Coach Joe Imhoff. "Ending the season with three All-Americans and a first time track and field athlete with two All-American medals is a testament to the hard work they have put in everyday throughout the year. I'm proud of this team and looking forward to many more seasons such as this one."
