ATLANTA, Ga. (March 17-18, 2023) On Friday and Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's track and field team traveled to compete at the Emory Spring Break Classic, hosted by Emory University, where the Bears finished 12th out of 16 teams. 

LEADERS

Leading the way for the Bears, was Cameron Alamia who finished fifth in the 100 meter dash, punching his individual ticket to NAIA nationals in May, with a time of 10.55 seconds. The men's 4x800 meter relay team, featuring Connor Morgan, Donnie Swinson, Brycen Swartz and Luke Palmer, followed as they finished fourth with a time of 8:08.77. The 4x400 meter relay team, featuring Colby Liesen, Morgan, Swinson and Swartz, finished fifth (3:26.28). 

In the field events, the men's shot put saw Seth Fowler finish in third, throwing a mark of 14.30 meters, and setting a new school and personal record. Dylan Simms finished seventh in the shot put (13.08 meters). Jeremiah Giddens followed finishing sixth in the high jump, jumping a height of 1.70 meters. In the discus throw, Fowler finished sixth (39.50m), followed by Michael Gilmore in seventh (39.20m) and Simms in eighth (37.52m).

Up next, the Bears will travel on Friday, March 24, back to Atlanta, Ga. for another two-day meet hosted by Emory University.
