Cleveland, Ga. - The Truett McConell Baseball team hosted the Southern Wesleyan Warriors on Tuesday, March 13th. Entering the contest, the Bears were 10-9 overall on the season.

Hayden Carey started on the mound for the Bears as he threw a great 1st inning. Carey was relieved later on by
Cody Nix in the second inning.

Southern Wesleyan scored four runs in the 2nd inning and pushed across two more runs in the third inning. After three innings, the Bears trailed 6-0.

Although the Bears were down early, they continued to compete and gradually clawed their way back into the game. They broke through in the 4th inning as
Evan Bensch was driven home by an
Austin Thomas single.

The Bears were able string together a productive inning in the bottom of the 6th inning to close the gap to 6-4.

In the top of the 7th, Southern Wesleyan pushed ahead with a lone run to the Warriors up 7-4.

In the bottom of the 9th, the Bears were down to their last three outs and needed four runs to seal the comeback victory.
Josh Johnston led the inning off with a single.
Shane Smith stepped into the box and delivered a double. Bensch delivered a single up the middle sending Johnston home. With the score 7-5, Southern Wesleyan's pitcher over threw a pick-off, allowing Smith to score along with Bensch moving to third base on the overthrow.
Jackson Meadors drove Bensch home on a sac fly tying the game at 7-7. With two outs in the bottom of the 9th,
Andrew Fogarty stepped to the plate and smashed a ball over the wall in left field to win the game for the Bears.
With the win, the Bears currently sit at a 11-9 overall record. The Bears will be back in conference action on Friday, March 16th, as they will host Montreat College. Originally the game was set to be played at Montreat College, but due to weather conditions, the weekend series has been moved to Cleveland.
