CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 7, 2026)—On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell Baseball team secured a series win over Defiance College (Ohio), taking three of four games at the TMU Baseball Complex. The Bears opened the series with a 16–4 win Friday afternoon, captured a 5–4 victory later that evening, dropped a competitive 10–8 contest Saturday, and closed the weekend with an 11–0 shutout. TMU rises to an overall record of 4-3.
GAME ONE
TMU 16- DC 4

The Bears jumped out quickly with a four-run first inning sparked by RBI efforts from
Jordan Cox,
Donovan Parker,
Paul Stroemer Jr., and
C.J. Rivera. TMU continued to apply pressure with runs in each of the next four innings, highlighted by RBI hits from Parker and Rivera to extend the lead. After Defiance pushed across three runs in the fifth, the Bears answered with another three-run inning and later added four more runs in the sixth to secure the victory.

Parker finished with three RBIs, while Rivera added three RBIs and Cox recorded multiple hits.
Dylan Sargent went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Samuel Turner earned the win, allowing three runs across five innings.

DC struck first before
Caleb Williams delivered an RBI double in the opening inning to tie the game. Rivera's RBI groundout in the second gave the Bears the lead, but the Yellow Jackets responded with a three-run fourth inning. TMU answered immediately as Rivera and Cox drove in runs to even the score. In the seventh inning,
Jacob Karvelas reached on an error to bring home the go-ahead run, and
Ryan Coughanour closed out the final frame to seal the victory.
LEADERS
Brant Pace recorded two hits and scored twice, while Rivera drove in two runs. Williams tallied an RBI double.
Lleyton Hallman tossed three scoreless innings in relief, and
Ryan Coughanour earned the win with a strong finish.

DC 10 – TMU 8

DC built an early advantage with a four-run second inning before TMU responded with RBIs from Sargent and Stroemer Jr. to chip away at the deficit. A two-run sixth inning cut the margin to two runs, but the Yellow Jackets added four insurance runs in the seventh. The Bears rallied late as Williams delivered a two-run double and Parker added a two-RBI single, but the comeback effort fell just short.

The Bears took an early lead on an RBI groundout from
Qwenton Roach before breaking the game open with a four-run third inning highlighted by RBI doubles from Williams and Parker. TMU added six runs in the sixth inning behind disciplined at-bats, sacrifice flies, and timely hits from
Aidyn Flanagan and
Dylan Hamby. The TMU pitching staff held DC scoreless to secure the shutout victory and series win.

Hamby recorded two hits and two RBIs, while Parker added two RBIs and Williams drove in two runs. Flanagan added an RBI single. Coughanour earned the win after tossing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts.
