CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell women's basketball takes on game two of a five-game road trip tomorrow afternoon at Toccoa Falls with tip-off scheduled at 2 p.m.

The Lady Bears and Screaming Eagles have faced off every year since 2014 except for 2017. TMU has won four straight in the series and 16 of the past 17 overall which includes a 59-54 win in Cleveland in 2025-26. Truett has never lost on the road in the series with an 8-0 record to show for it.

The Eagles started the season on Tuesday with a 63-60-win Wesleyan College to begin with a 1-0 overall record. In 2025-26, the team finished 10-20 overall with a 4-5 mark vs. NCCAA schools. The Eagles had five matches vs. AAC schools, going 1-4 in those games.

The team returns Jada Wood from last season, who averaged a double-double with 19.0 points per game and 11.6 rebounds per contest. In the Tuesday night win, she totaled 29 points and grabbed 11 boards, completing the double-double. TF also has Riley Berninger returning, who scored 10.3 points per game.

The Lady Bears start the year 0-2 with back-to-back losses to Talladega (73-40) and Georgia Gwinnett (65-54). In both losses, TMU greatly suffered due to the lack of offensive play in a single quarter. Against the Tornadoes, the team was outscored 23-7 in the final quarter. At the Grizzlies, it was the first quarter that caused trouble with a 19-7 score not in favor of the Lady Bears.

Ava Queen led the group in both contests with double-digit points in each loss.
Gabriel Stewart is the only other Lady Bear to score double digits in 2026-27, scoring ten in the loss vs. Georgia Gwinnett.
