CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 5, 2026) – Truett McConnell University senior Destiny Lovejoy has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for Week 7, marking her first weekly honor of the season.
 
Lovejoy played a key role in the Lady Bears' 67–58 conference victory over the University of Pikeville, recording a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Seven of her rebounds came on the defensive end, helping TMU limit second-chance opportunities and control the paint throughout the contest. Lovejoy also added one assist, contributing on both ends of the floor.
