CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 3, 2026) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team picked up a key Appalachian Athletic Conference victory at home on, defeating the University of Pikeville 67–58. The Lady Bears rise to an overall record of 4-11, 3-5 AAC.

TMU set the tone early as
Ava Queen and
Madison Aguilera jumpstarted the offense, while Destiny Lovejoy controlled the paint to give the Lady Bears a significant early lead (17-6). In the second quarter,
Kayleigh Kelley provided a spark off the bench, and Queen continued to facilitate as Aguilera and Lovejoy added buckets to keep the game close heading into halftime (27-29).
Out of the break,
Mya Yeh and Queen knocked down key shots to answer Pikeville runs, while Aguilera found her rhythm from the perimeter and Lovejoy remained active on the boards. In the final minutes, TMU stayed composed as Lovejoy and Queen delivered clutch scoring, allowing the Lady Bears to close out the 67–58 AAC victory.
LEADERS
Lovejoy led the Lady Bears scoring 15 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for a double-double. Aguilera matched Lovejoy with 15 points, while Queen contributed 16 points and Kelley added 10 points.
