BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (February 21, 2026) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team fought through a competitive away matchup to secure a 54–50 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Union College. The Lady Bears close their 2025-2026 season with an overall record of 6–22, 5–15 AAC.

TMU started the game with solid execution on both ends of the floor, getting early scoring from
Ava Queen and
Destinee Lovejoy to establish a first-quarter edge. Truett McConnell shot efficiently and played steady defense to hold a lead after one. In the second quarter, Union cut into the margin as both teams tightened up defensively, but TMU received balanced contributions to remain competitive going into halftime.
In the third quarter, TMU relied on second-chance opportunities and perimeter pressure to maintain a slight advantage. Queen continued to produce in the paint, while
Kayleigh Kelley connected on key field goals to keep the Lady Bears ahead. During the final quarter, Truett McConnell focused on defensive stops and taking care of the ball. Lovejoy converted important free throws in the closing minutes, and Queen added key interior baskets to help maintain the lead. TMU managed the final possessions effectively to secure the 54–50 victory.
LEADERS
Queen led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds showcasing presence on both ends of the floor. Lovejoy secured 12 points and 11 rebounds, recording a double-double, while Kelley added 11 points.
