Cleveland, Ga. – For the second consecutive year, the Truett McConnell women's basketball team has made the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25, the organization announced Tuesday.
The WBCA is a national organization that recognizes the top academic programs in the country within all levels of play. To qualify for the Academic Top 25, a team must present a total GPA of at least 3.0 and must be nominated by a head coach who is a member of the WBCA.
The Lady Bears accumulated a 3.40 GPA, good for 25
th at the NAIA level. They were a part of 29 NAIA schools to qualify for the honor. Leading the NAIA was Bethel with a team GPA of 3.83. Other schools topping its respective divisions included Green Bay in NCAA Division I, Mercy in Division II, Nebraska Wesleyan in Division III and Trinity Valley in the Two-Year College list.
