TMU competes at Electric City Invite, Hall qualifies for U.S. Olympic Team Trials

ANDERSON, S.C. (April 12-13, 2024) On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's track and field team traveled to compete at the Electric City Invite, hosted by Anderson University.
 
Most notable, junior Myesha Hall was featured finishing in first place in the women's long jump with a final mark of 6.29 meters, proving capable of setting a new personal and program record, taking the NAIA lead in the event, and qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials set to take place in Eugene, Oregon this July. Hall continued to show her grit finishing in third place in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.80 meters. Katilyn Babb was also seen contributing a top performance, recording a first-place finish in the Javelin throw with a mark of 40.61m.
 
In the running events, Kyleigh Johnson was featured finishing in ninth in the 100m hurdles, while both the 4x400m relay team (Johnson, Sarah Owen, Autumn Shepherd and Hall – 4:07.16) and the 4x100m relay team (Johnson, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth, Adella Twinomugisha – 49.31 seconds) finished fifth.
 
Up next, the Lady Bears will travel to Columbia, S.C. on Thursday, April 18 – Saturday, April 20, to compete at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Columbia International University.
