KENNESAW, Ga. (April 7, 2023) - On Friday, the Truett McConnell University women's track and field team traveled to compete at the Kennesaw State Invite, hosted by Kennesaw State University, where the Lady Bears were seen finishing in fourth of 18 teams, with a combined score of 92.5 points.

"I'm very proud of what the mens and women's team accomplished at kennesaw state," says Head Coach Joe Imhoff. "We finished the meet with many PR's, school records and national qualifiers. As we end the regular season in the next week, I am excited where we are heading into conference. This team has worked hard all year and it has shown with a fourth place combined finish in a division 1 meet as one of a few representing the NAIA."

LEADERS

Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Myesha Hall, who finished second in the long jump with a mark of 5.85m. Katilyn Babb followed by placing third in the javelin throw with a mark of 39.05m, while Grace Jones was featured finishing fourth (34.30m) in Discus and Rachel Gooch finished eighth in Discus (31.41m). Jones was also seen finishing sixth in the shot-put throw with a mark of 11.60m. 

In the individual running events, Sara Owen led the way placing fourth in the 800m race with a time of 2:21.64. In the 400m hurdles, Trenyonna Allen found a sixth-place finish (1:08.96), while Autumn Shepherd finished in seventh (1:12.28). Hall was seen finishing seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 12.37 seconds.

The 4x100m relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Esther Nakanwagi, finished in third (49.06), while the 4x400m relay team, featuring Nakanwagi, Allen, Owen, and Hall, finished in fourth (4:06.41).

The Lady Bears will travel to Anderson, S.C. on Friday, April 14-Saturday, April 15, to compete in their last regular season meet of the season, hosted by Anderson University.
