Lady Bears finish seventh at Electric City Invite

ANDERSON, S.C. (April 15, 2023) – On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's track and field team traveled to compete at the 2023 Electric City Invite, hosted by Anderson University. The Lady Bears worked hard as they earned a seventh place finish out of 26 teams, with a final team score of 51 points.
 
LEADERS
Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Myesha Hall, who finished first in both the triple jump (11.71m) and long jump (5.87m). Katilyn Babb followed finishing first in the javelin throw with a mark of 42.57m, setting a new school and personal record. Grace Jones followed placing third in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.57m, also setting a new school and personal record. Jones was also featured placing fourth in the shot-put throw (11.61m). 
 
In the running events, Savannah Campbell led the way, finishing second in the 10000m race with a time of 41:07.77. The 4x100m relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Esther Nakanwagi, finished in seventh (49.26 seconds).
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Bears will head to Black Mountain, N.C. on Friday, April 21 to compete at the two-day Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship, hosted by Montreat College.
