ROME, Ga. (March 4, 2023) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's track and field team traveled to compete in the Victor Icebreaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.
Leading the way for the Lady Bears this was junior Katilyn Babb, who finished first in javelin throwing a mark of 41.59 meters and punching her ticket to NAIA nationals. Babb followed up placing fifth in discus, throwing a mark of 33.52 meters, while Grace Jones placed sixth in shot put, throwing a mark of 11.43 meters.
In the running events, freshman Sarah Owen placed first in the 800m race with a time of 2:23.01, followed by Savannah Campbell who placed fifth in the 5000m (18:45.29). The Lady Bears 4x400m relay team, featuring Esther Nakenwagi, Trenyonna Allen, Owen and Myesha Hall, finished in fifth with a time of 4:11.09. The 4x100m relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Nakenwagi finished sixth (53.26), while Allen placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (17.59).

The Lady Bears will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to compete at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University on Friday, March 10 - Saturday, March 11.
