ATLANTA, Ga. (March 25, 2023) On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's track and field team traveled to compete at the two-day Emory Thrills in the Hills meet, hosted by Emory University. The Lady Bears finished eighth out of 24 teams, respectfully. 

Leading the way for the Lady Bears once again is Myesha Hall who finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.66 meters and third in the long jump, setting a new school and personal record of 6.00 meters. Grace Jones was featured finishing fifth in the shot-put throw with a mark of 11.97 meters and eighth in the hammer throw with a mark 42.29 meters, setting a new school and personal record. 

The 4x800m relay team, featuring Sara Owen, Simone Chock, Hayden Ponce and Hannah Canady, finished third with a time of 10:44.96. The 4x100m relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Esther Nakanwagi finished fourth (49.66), while the 4x400m relay team featuring Nakanwagi, Trenyonna Allen, Owen and Hall finished seventh (4:10.51). 

In the individual running events, Owen finished in sixth in the 800m race with a time of 4:58.40. Hall found an eighth-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 25.72 seconds, while Chock also finish eighth in the 5000 meter race with a time of 20:47.47.

The Lady Bears will travel to Central, S.C. on Saturday, April 1 to compete at the SWU Gotta Run Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.
