CENTRAL, S.C. (March 5, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University women's track & field team traveled to compete in the Susan Rouse Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.
Savannah Campbell finished first in the 5000m with a time of 18:48.77, followed by Simone Chock who finished fourth (20:22.08). In the 100m dash, Heaven Simmons placed third with a time of 12.93, while Tenae Grigsby placed third in the 400m hurdles, along with setting a new TMU record with a time of 1:07.49. In the 4x100m relay Aaliyah Wilson, Myesha Hall, Ja'Taria Jackson, and Simmons placed second with a time of 49.65. Rounding out the running events, the 4x400m relay, featuring Esther Nakanwagi, Hall, Wilson, and Grigsby, the Lady Bears finished third overall.
Hall found herself with a first-place finish in the triple jump, setting a new school record with a mark of 11.32m. Katilyn Babb placed second in the Javelin throw with a mark of 34.39m. In discus, Allison Craig placed third (34.84m) and in shot put, Grace Jones placed third (11.65m). Rounding our TMU's results, Addison Wilson placed second in pole vault (2.90m), followed by Lily Lipsey who placed third (2,45m).
