DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (February 6, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University women's track & field team opened their 2022 season competing at the Life U Indoor Invite, where the Lady Bears finished third overall with 110 points.
The 4x800 relay team, featuring Savannah Campbell, Hayden Ponce, Simone Chock and Allison Craft, finished second with a final time of 11:38.33.
Ja'Taria Jackson placed fourth (8.20) in the 60-meter dash, and in the women's one-mile run, Elle Sims placed second with a time of 5:55.49. In the women's 400m dash, Trenyonna Allen placed fourth with a time of 1:09.37, while Hannah Canady placed fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:42.36.
The women's 200m saw Jackson with a fifth-place finish (28.12), the 5000m saw Campbell with a first-place finish (18:35.49) and Chock with a fifth-place finish (20:11.62).
Women's shot-put saw Grace Jones finish fourth overall and demolish the TMU record with a 12.28-meter mark, while Addison Wilson placed first in pole vault (2.75m) and Lily Lipsey placed second in pole vault (2.45m).
Myesha Hall placed first in the women's triple jump, with a mark of 10.95m, Esther Nakanwagi placed second with a mark of 10.38 and Autumn Shepherd finish fourth with a mark of 9.25m.
