MONTREAT, N.C. (Mar. 28, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University women's track & field team had a successful weekend at the Montreat College Invitational setting five new program records. The Lady Bears finished 21st of 28 teams, including besting Appalachian Athletic Conference foes Tennessee Wesleyan University, SCAD-Atlanta University and Union College.
Once again, freshman
Katilyn Babb broke her own school record in the women's javelin. Babb finished runner-up of 24 individuals with a mark of 38.75m.
Lily Lipsey and
Haley Thompson also broke their previous records in their perspective events.
Lipsey recorded a jump of 2.50m in the women's pole vault, while Thompson finished ninth of 20 in the women's 400m hurdles with a new record time of 1:09.64.
Addison Wilson broke the school record in the women's 100m hurdles, which was set in 2019. The freshman finished 11th of 26 with a record time of 16.08.
The Lady Bears' 4x100m relay team rounded out the broken program records on the weekend.

Heaven Simmons finished seventh of 17 teams with a new record time of 49.00.
