Kingsport, Tn. | Number five seeded Truett McConnell (23-24 overall; 12-15 AAC) matched up with the number four seeded Point University Skyhawks (30-23 overall; 16-11 AAC) in an elimination game in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.

The Bears started the game hot, beginning with
Patrick Overstreet reaching first base on a misplayed grounder, bringing
Jackson Meadors up to bat next. Meadors would be walked, putting runners on first and second base for the Bears. Sophomore
Evan Bensch drove a double to left field, which sent Overstreet and Meadors home for the Bears' first runs of the game.
Andrew Fogarty, the senior from Jefferson, GA., stepped to the plate and delivered a double down the right-field line that brought
Calob Rowland, pinch running for Bensch, around to score from second base. The Bears ended the top of the 1st inning with an early 3-0 lead over the Skyhawks.
Evan Bensch got the start on the mound for the Bears. Point matched TMU's early scoring serge with three runs of their own.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Skyhawks took the lead with one run. They continued to extend their lead in the 6th inning, scoring two runs.
TMU could not answer the Skyhawks' hot bats, as they fell in the elimination game to Point by a final score of 8-3.

The Bears season comes to a close, as they finish the season 24-25 overall. The season marks the highest seeding in the conference tournament the program has ever had, being the number five seed.
