Box Score Cleveland, Ga. - On Thursday, March 22nd, the Truett McConnell Bears baseball team hosted the Young Harris Mountain Lions in a non-conference matchup at home. The Bears were coming off a 3-game sweep of Montreat College.
Freshman
Cody Nix started on the mount for the Bears on the afternoon.
Young Harris struck early in the first inning when they scored their first run to give them a 1-0 lead.
With a scoreless three innings from both sides, the Mountain Lions added 4 runs in the 5th inning to push their lead to 5-0. The Mountain Lions bats remained hot and added another pair of runs in the 6th inning for a 7-0 lead over the Bears.
The Bears scored their lone run in the 7th inning, as
Austin Thomas was driven home on a
Josh Johnston sac-fly.
Young Harris would take the non-conference matchup victory over the Bears 7-1 and end their winning streak at 6-games.
The Bears will be back in action this weekend against Point University in a 3-game series on Friday and Saturday.
