Baseball Set for 2017 Season

CLEVELAND | Tomorrow marks the start of the 2017 season for the Truett McConnell baseball team, and the season will start with plenty of chances for fans to catch the Bears in action.

In fact, aside from a Valentine's Day date with Middle Georgia on the road and a matchup at Toccoa Falls on February 28, the Bears will play every game at home in the month of February, totaling to 17 home games in the first month alone.

Tomorrow's matchup pits the Bears against Toccoa Falls, a team that, last year, made a run at the NCCAA National Championship, falling just short of the title.

The AAC schedule sees the Bears making the longest road trips this season as part of the rotating schedule. TMU will travel to Bluefield, Union and St. Andrews this season. Home series against league teams include Bryan, Point, Tennessee Wesleyan and Montreat.

The Bears will also take on some NCAA Division II teams, including Southern Wesleyan and Young Harris. The Bears will travel to both institutions as well as host them at the TMU Baseball Complex.

First pitch for tomorrow's Opening Day festivities is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $3 each for individuals, but TMU students, faculty and staff get in free with your TMU ID card.
