CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell wrestling team fell to Emmanuel College Tuesday night, 44-3, in the home opener for the 2016-17 season.

Emmanuel came out aggressively in the opening matches, winning three of the first six by either fall or technical fall.

David Capers was the lone winner for the Bears on the night, winning in a 4-2 decision at 165. Devonte Upshaw also had an impressive showing, falling 8-4 in a toughly contested match at 141.

The Bears will next wrestle at the Campbellsville University Duals on Saturday. Some matches will be in Mid-South Conference action.
