WICHITA, Kan. (March 7, 2026) – The Truett McConnell University wrestling team concluded competition at the 69th Annual NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championships this weekend at Heartland Credit Union Arena, with three Bears representing the program on the national stage.

Competing for TMU were
Tyler Ramos (125),
Nate Napolitano (165), and
Phillip Terrell (285), each earning their place at the national tournament after strong finishes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships.

Napolitano delivered the Bears' top performance of the weekend at 165 pounds, advancing into the second day of competition. He opened the tournament with a strong showing in the first round, securing a fall victory in 2:53 to move forward in the championship bracket. After suffering a loss in the second round, Napolitano battled back in the consolation bracket, earning a 9-2 decision victory to extend his run. Napolitano ultimately concluded his time in the tournament after dropping his final consolation match, finishing the national championship with a 2-2 record.

Ramos and Terrell saw their tournament runs end during the opening day of competition, with both wrestlers finishing 0-2 in their respective brackets. Despite the early exits, the pair capped off impressive seasons that included qualifying for the national championship through the highly competitive AAC field.
