Greenville, S.C. – Truett McConnell Cross Country wrapped up its first meet of the 2026 season with the Bruins XC Night Classic Friday night.
 
Obadiah Kipruto was the highlight of the night for the Bears as the freshman placed fifth in the men's 6k with a time of 20:07.1. Also placing in the top 40 for the men was John Ball at 37^th place and Gibson Horner at 39^th place. As a team, the men finished seventh out of 12 squads.
 
For the women, Riley Stevens ranked atop the team with a 16:19.8 time in the women's 4k, finishing 17^th overall. Isabella Laughton also placed well, finishing in 38^th with a time of 17:10.3.
 
TMU will see the course again next Friday at the Hoka Nights of Thunder XC Fest on Sept. 11 in Tallahassee.
