TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Truett McConnell cross country had runner in the top ten in both the men's and women's races at the Hoka Nights of Thunder XC Fest Friday night.
Obadiah Kipruto once again shined in his second meet for the Bears as he collected his first podium finish in third with a time of 27:50.96 in the men's 8k.
Brando Araujo also made his mark in the race, placing tenth with a 28:51.93 time in the event. Overall, the men's team finished second behind Daytona State College.
For the women,
Riley Stevens was the highlight as she placed seventh overall with a time of 21:35.33 in the 5k race.
Isabella Laughton recorded a placement of 11
th with a mark of 22:05.99 as the team finished in third place overall out of 12 teams.
TMU continues its 2026 season with a trip to Berea College for the Mike and Mary Johnson Classic on Saturday, Sept. 19.
