CLEVELAND, Ga. (December 18, 2024) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team matched up with Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, University of Pikeville, where the Bears put together a stellar performance to secure a dominating 51-6 victory. 
 
Elijah Mullins led the way in the 149 weight class, after recording a clutch first period fall (1:33), followed by fall in overtime by Isaac Hall (6:13) in the 133 weight class. Phillip Terrell also showed his grit in the 285 weight class recording a second period fall (3:32). Tate Thomas was seen recording a major decision win in the 125 weight class (10-0), while Derek Counsel recorded a tech fall 17-2.
 
Up next, TMU will travel to Montgomery, Ala. to compete in the Huntingdon College Duals/Open on Friday, January 3 – Saturday, January 4.
