MARIETTA, Ga. (February 18, 2023) – The Truett McConnell University wrestling team closed their 2022-23 season at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday, hosted by Life University, where the Bears finished ninth overall with 30.5 team points. No. 2 Life was crowned AAC Champions, followed by No.3 Southeastern who finished runners-up.

Most notable, graduate student Ian James was seen qualifying in the 165 weight class by placing fourth overall after beating No. 21 Adam El Damir from Keiser University. Freshman Stanley Lal was also featured placing fourth overall in the 133 weight class after a strong run through the tournament.
