Box Score TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. (Nov. 2, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to face Toccoa Falls College Tuesday, where the Lady Bears dominated with a final score of 59-40. The Lady Bears record improved to 2-0 on the season, while the Screaming Eagles fell to a record of 0-1.
PLAY BY PLAY
In the first quarter, the Lady Bears and the Eagles were close in score. TMU started with a shot in the paint from Quan Holton. A three pointer and a shot in the paint from Re'Tavia Floyd ended the quarter without lady Bears in the lead (13-12). In the second quarter, a foul on Camilla Callihan allowed TMU to even up the score (14-14), and gained the lead with two good free throws from Floyd. A 12 point rally led TMU into the third quarter with a score of 26-22.
In the third quarter, Holton started a five point rally with a three pointer, followed by Sydney Rumble with a shot in the paint. The Screaming Eagles made efforts in lessening the lead, but TMU had a nine point rally to make the score 43-31 at the end of the quarter three. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears dominated on the home teams side of the court. Callihan had two shots in the paint, followed by Natalie Nixon with a shot in the paint of her own. A final jumó shot from Callihan sealed the deal for a 59-40 victory.
LEADERS
Callihan led the way with 13 points on the evening, with five shots in the paint and three free throws. Floyd followed closely with 12 points, going 7-8 at the free throw line with seven rebounds on the night. Rumble and Alyssee Dobbs both tallied nine points, while Rumble went 3-3 in the paint and 2-2 from the three point line. Dobbs went 3-4 at the free throw line, followed by Holton who had seven points, going 2-2 at the free throw line.

The Lady Bears will compete in their home and conference opener, inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Saturday, Nov. 6, where they will face AAC opponent, Columbia College, with tipoff set for 2:00 p.m.
