Box Score GRAYSON, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, Kentucky Christian University, where the Lady Bears lost by slim margins (67-65). TMU fell to a record of 3-1, 1-1 AAC, while the Knights rose 2-2, 1-1 AAC.
PLAY BY PLAY
In the first quarter, both teams were neck and neck. A layup from Jessica Jackson got the Lady Bears started and was followed by three pointers from Sydney Rumble and Re'Tavia Floyd. The Lady Bears went into the second quarter down 15-18, but was able to stay within close margins. Good Free throws by Camilla Callihan and Quan Holton gave the Lady Bears momentum, along with two shots in the paint from Callihan to make the score 25-32 at the half.
The Lady Bears were hot out of the gate in the third quarter with two three pointers from Floyd. Shots in the paint from Callihan, Floyd and Jackson gave TMU back the lead. At the end of the third quarter, the score was tied up at 52-52, while TMU jumped ahead with a three pointer and a shot in the paint from Floyd. A free throw at the end from Holton proved not enough as the Lady Bears fell short 65-67.
LEADERS
Floyd had an impressive evening with 34 points, along with going 7-8 at the free throw line. Jackson had 11 points, going 5-6 at the free throw line and three shots in the paint. Callihan had 10 points with eight rebounds. Holton had six points, with two shots in the paint and two points from the freethrow line. Rumble had four points with one rebound on the evening.

The Lady Bears return home on Saturday, Nov. 13, inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena to face AAC opponent, Union College, with tipoff set for 2:00 p.m.
