CLEVELAND, Ga. (Jan. 23, 2021) – For the regular season finale, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team competed in a tri-match against Keiser University and No. 14 Campbellsville University inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena, where they finished with one win and one loss on the day. The Bears defeated the Seahawks with a team score of 42-9, featuring three pins and three decision wins. TMU put up a fight in match two, but ultimately fell to No. 14 Campbellsville with a team score of 16-33.
The Bears recognized their three seniors, Will Davidson, Dalton Hardeman and Preston Sartain, who all collected a single win on the day.
Most notable, juniors Leonel Silvestre and Ian James went two for two in individual matches. Silvestre tallied two hard fought decision wins with scores of 12-7 and 8-5, while James earned two pins, the first with 42 seconds remaining in period one and the second with 15 seconds remaining in period two.
