CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 4, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University wrestling team commenced their 2020-2021 season Wednesday evening against No.10 Life University inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena. The Bears battled until the end, but ultimately fell to the Screaming Eagles 42-0.
Though the score remained at zero for TMU, there were many noteworthy matches on the night. Junior Brandon Navixay battled in all three periods at 125, but ultimately fell to a three point lead. Freshman Hans Evatt made his debut as a Bear wrestling at 184 going toe to toe with Jack Bass (LU). Evatt turned it on in the third period hitting a blast-double to lessen the lead but, in the end, fell to a score of 11-5. At 197, Dalton Hardeman put up a good fight against three-time national qualifier, Baker Hadwan, but came up short to Hadwan's scored takedowns in the third period (13-4).
