Bears fall in tightly contested dual

CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 28, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University wrestling team hosted Brewton-Parker College for a dual on Wednesday night inside the TMU Bear Cave. The Bears fell in a tightly contested match by three (22-20).

 

Cory Garrison earned the first win of the night for the Bears with a decision in the 125-weight class 11-6. At 141, Will Davidson also won by a decision 8-1. Freshman standout Ian James won by a major decision 13-2 at 157 to put TMU out front as a team (10-9).

 

Jacob Matheson, at 197, was the only Bear to pin his opponent and Wals Edmond rounded out the team points for TMU with a decision in the heavyweight class (9-2).
