CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell wrestling team fell in both matches Thursday night to No. 10 Campbellsville and No. 8 Life University in Mid-South Conference action.
The Bears had a very strong showing from
Devonte Upshaw against Campbellsville's Aaron Rugnao, winning 3-2 in the match.
Joe Hulen followed that up with a 4-3 decision over Kolton Radaz at 141 pounds.
Blaine Bird also put up a great showing, pinning Campbellsville's Lee Johnson in 4:09.
"It's tough going up against nationally-ranked competition with a depleted lineup," said head coach
Marcus Cobbs, "but the guys who did wrestle, wrestled very well. I am very excited about what the next weeks hold for the guys!"
The Bears will hit the road to finish out the calendar year, wrestling at Southeastern University on December 15. The match is slated to start at 5 p.m. in Lakeland, Florida.
