CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell volleyball team fought back from a two-set deficit to force a decisive fifth set, but ultimately fell to Milligan, 3-2, Tuesday night in Cleveland. The Bears are now 12-16 overall and 6-13 in league play.
After dropping the first two sets, the Bears came storming back in the third set, winning 25-20, behind impressive sets from
Harris Anne Walker and
Natalie Hogle.
The Bears continued the comeback, outscoring the Buffaloes, 25-15, in the fourth set, recording 18 kills to just two errors in the set.
Milligan came back in the fifth set, scoring 11 of the first 16 points of the set, but the Bears continued to fight, cutting the lead to three at 14-11 before falling in the set.
Zykeria Allen finished with a team-high 16 kills and recorded another double-double with 26 digs. Grace Ann Morehouse led the Buffaloes with an impressive 49 digs in the five set match.
The Bears will finish their season on the road with three AAC matches, starting with a tri-match at Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday.
