Volleyball Splits at Tennessee Wesleyan

ATHENS, Tenn. | The Truett McConnell volleyball team needed five sets to defeat Columbia College before falling in four sets to Tennessee Wesleyan, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. The Bears are now 13-17 overall and 7-13 in AAC play.

The Bears went up 2-0 early on Columbia by scores of 25-20 and 25-17 before falling in sets three and four by identical scores. The Bears and Koalas traded points in the fifth set with TMU ultimately winning 18-16.

Tennessee Wesleyan took advantage of the Bears having gone through a tight match with Columbia minutes before, wearing down Truett McConnell after the Bears took set one, 25-21. The Bulldogs won the next three sets, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-13 to win the match.

The Bears will finish the regular season at St. Andrews on Tuesday with first serve set at 6:30 p.m.
