CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell cycling wrapped up day one of competition at the SECCC Conference Opener.
 
It is the third season in a row that the Bears have hosted a home meet to start the season. The last two have fallen on the last weekend of August.
 
In the XC group, Grayson Gunnin was the top performer for the men, finishing ninth out of 35 finishers in the Men P ½ race with a time of 1:53:34.82. Garrison Riker also placed within the top 15 racers with a 2:01:00.33 time.
 
Kayla Liles was the lone woman competitor, finishing 22^nd with a time of 1:57:29.49 in the women's P ½ race.
 
With a score of 365, Brendan Powell placed 24^th in the men's Dual Slalom race. Riker placed 39^th while Gunnin finished in 47^th place. In the women's race, Liles placed in 13^th and Gianna Claxton placed 16^th.
 
Day two of the meet will occur throughout the day tomorrow on Sunday.
