Kang Finishes Competition at the U.S. Women's Open

The former Bear ended the tournament tied for 19th place in her first U.S. Women's Open

Pacific Palisades, Calif. – TMU legend Minji Kang finished competition at the U.S. Women's Open presented by Ally at the Riviera Country Club from June 4-7.
 
It was the first U.S. Women's Open for Kang, which saw her finish tied for 19th overall. She finished with a score of 68 in the first round, 75 in the second, 68 in round three and 74 in the fourth, resulting in 285 overall points and a mark of +1 to par.
 
Kang also received a boost in her CME Globe ranking, making her the 77th ranked women's golfer as well as financial compensation for her placement in the U.S. Open. In her LPGA career, which started in 2023, she has four top 25 finishes and one top ten finish.
 
While with the Bears, Kang competed in eight tournaments within a single year, winning every one of them. She was also crowned the NAIA Champion in 2022, where she topped the leaderboard with -12 to par and a score of 204 through three rounds.
