JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2026) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University softball team traveled to face Trinity College of Jacksonville in a non-conference doubleheader match-up, where the Lady Bears earned a 12-0 victory in game one before completing the dominating sweep with a 15-5 win in game two. TMU rises to an overall record of 6-2.
GAME ONE
TMU 12 – TCJ 0
The Lady Bears came out swinging in the opener, striking first in the top of the first inning when Rylee Walker launched a solo home run to give TMU an early 1-0 advantage. TMU extended its lead in the second after Alyssa Crump reached on an error that allowed Ashley Fitts to score. The bats stayed hot in the third inning as Grace Folds homered to left field, and Fitts added a sacrifice fly to center to plate Cassie Boatright and push the lead to 4-0. The fourth inning proved pivotal as Walker delivered a two-RBI double to left, scoring Folds and Emma Skipper. Morgan Kacalek followed with an RBI double of her own to bring Walker home and make it 7-0. The Lady Bears broke the game open in the fifth with a power surge. Skipper crushed a two-run homer to right field, scoring Kinsley Tout, and Emme Souter followed with a solo hit to left field. Walker capped off her dominant performance with her second home run of the game, sealing the 12-0 run-rule victory.
LEADERS
Walker led the explosive offensive, tallying two home runs, a double, and five RBIs. Folds, Skipper, and Souter each homered, while Kacalek, Crump, and Fitts contributed RBIs.
GAME TWO
TMU 15 – TCJ 5
Game two featured another impressive showing from the Lady Bears, highlighted by another key performance from Walker. She opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run to right center. Reagan Chizek followed immediately with a solo shot of her own to make it 2-0. In the third, Walker struck again with a two-run homer to center field, scoring Avery Walker and extending the lead to 4-0. After Trinity trimmed the margin, TMU responded in the fourth. Walker drove in an RBI single before Chizek launched her second home run of the game to stretch the lead to 7-3. The Lady Bears continued to answer every push. In the fifth, Walker delivered her third home run of the game, a two-run shot to right center that scored Souter and made it 10-5. TMU put the game out of reach in the sixth inning with a five-run burst. Walker added another RBI on a sacrifice fly to score Georgia Patton. Chizek followed with an RBI double to left, plating Souter, before Tristan Brady delivered a two-run double to right field to score Chizek and A. Walker. Brady later came around to score on a throw to cap the 15-5 victory.
LEADERS
Walker turned in a remarkable performance, blasting three home runs and driving in seven RBIs while adding a single and a sacrifice fly. Chizek added two home runs, a double, and multiple RBIs in a powerful showing. Brady contributed a two-RBI double, while Madelyn Vincent and Crump added RBIs to round out the scoring effort.

The Lady Bears are set to host their first doubleheader of the season on Tuesday, February 17, against non-conference opponent Agnes Scott College. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
