Bears secure road victory over Milligan

CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 14, 2026) – On Wednesday night, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team pulled out a hard-fought Appalachian Athletic Conference victory, edging Milligan University 77–70. With the win, TMU moves to 9–9 overall and 6–4 in AAC play. 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Truett McConnell opened the game with strong offensive execution. Jadon Yeh set the tone by scoring at all three levels, while Shawn Walker and Isaac Brito-Vasquez knocked down perimeter shots to stretch the defense. Inside, Omari Joseph and Preston Tuggle provided a steady presence in the paint. TMU's ball movement and defensive intensity helped the Bears take a 44–32 advantage into halftime.
Truett McConnell maintained control in the second half as Yeh continued to score and support his team with assists, while Walker added perimeter baskets. Tuggle anchored the interior with strong rebounding, while Preston Kent and Ryan Neal made key contributions on both ends of the floor. Emanuel Befekadu provided energy off the bench, helping TMU maintain its lead down the stretch. Despite a late push by Milligan, the Bears executed defensively and at the free-throw line to secure the 77–70 victory.
LEADERS
Yeh led the Bears with 20 points, going 7-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 from three, adding six rebounds and nine assists. Omari Joseph added 12 points with five rebounds, while Tuggle followed scoring 11 points and hauled in 11 rebounds. Walker contributed 10 points on perfect shooting, and Isaac Brito-Vasquez chipped in 9 points and dished out four assists.
