CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 6, 2025) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Montreat College for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener where the Bears recorded a shutout against the Cavaliers, 4-0. TMU rises to an overall record 2-2, 1-0 AAC.

In the first half the Bears came out firing, scoring twice in the opening ten minutes with both goals by
Pablo Farrona, assisted byÂ
James Aspinall and
Hudson Reynolds, to give TMU a quick 2–0 lead. The Bears continued to press forward, when in the 39th minute,Â
Noa Weigand added a third goal to the board, assisted by
Euan Brindley. TMU capped off the first half with a goal byÂ
Jovica Lazarevic, assisted byÂ
Guillermo Peino (4-0). In the second half, TMU continued to control the tempo on both ends of the pitch. The Bears fired 12 shots in total, keeping consistent pressure on the Cavaliers' backline, while the defense remained firm to secure the victory 4-0.

LEADERS
Farrona led the way with two goals and three shots. Weigand and Lazarevic each tallied one goal apiece, while Aspinall, Reynolds, Brindley, and Peino had one assist a piece. Brindley was featured recording five saves on the evening to secure the clean sheet.
