CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 3, 2025) – On Wednesday, the No. 16 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted Southeastern University for a non-conference match-up, where the Lady bears recorded a hard-fought 0–0 draw against the Fire. TMU rises to an overall record of 2-0-1 heading into conference play.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first half saw both teams trading chances, with the Fire applying consistent pressure on the TMU defense. Goalkeeper
Danica Wittmann came up big early, recording several saves to keep the match scoreless. On the other end,
Ariana Marfell generated opportunities for the Lady Bears with multiple looks at goal, but neither side managed to break through before halftime.
In the second half, TMU continued to push forward, registering four corner kicks and testing the Southeastern backline with shots from
Saige Peterson and
Isabella Hodson. Southeastern responded with a late surge, forcing Wittmann into a series of key saves to preserve the clean sheet. Despite chances from both sides, the match ended in a 0–0 draw.
LEADERS
Wittmann led the way for the Lady Bears recording 10 saves on the evening,. Marfell followed with three shots, while Hodson and Peterson recorded one shot on goal apiece.
