CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 22, 2025) – On Monday, the No. 15 Truett McConnell University women's soccer goalkeeper Danica Wittmann was recognized as the week five Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the third time this season.
 
Wittmann anchored the Lady Bears' defense with back-to-back shutouts last week. On Wednesday, she recorded two saves in TMU's 1–0 victory over No. 25 Tennessee Wesleyan University. She followed that performance with three saves in Saturday's 5–0 win against Union Commonwealth University. Wittmann's efforts helped TMU extend its record to 6-0-1.
 
The Lady Bears are set to return to action on Wednesday, September 24, hosting Bryan College in another AAC matchup at 5:00 p.m. inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
