LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (August 26, 2025) - On Tuesday, the No. 21 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team traveled to face No. 22 Georgia Gwinnett College in a non-conference match-up, where the Lady Bears proved victorious against the Grizzlies with a final score 1-0. TMU opens the season with an overall record of 1-0. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first half opened with GGC putting pressure on the Lady Bears' defense, but goalkeeper Danica Wittmann came up with an important save to keep the game even. TMU answered back with two strong shots from Saige Peterson, followed by a look from Ariana Marfell just before halftime. Neither team was able to break through, sending the game into the half tied 0–0.

Coming out of the break, Isabella Hodson gave the Lady Bears some early momentum with a shot on goal. TMU continued to push forward, when midway through the half, a foul by the Grizzlies set up a penalty kick attempt. Annabel Trauschke stepped forward and sent the ball into the net proving capable of giving the Lady Bears a 1–0 lead. Georgia Gwinnett battled to even the score with a few late attempts, but the Lady Bears' defense held strong to close out the win.

LEADERS
Trauschke led the way with one goal. Peterson followed with two shots, while Hodson and Marfell each recorded a shot a piece. Whittmann was featured recording three saves on the evening.
