MONTGOMERY, Ala. (August 31, 2025) – On Saturday, the No. 21 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team traveled to face Faulkner University in a non-conference match-up where the Lady Bears recorded a win against the Eagles, 4-1. TMU rises to an overall record of 2-0, while FU falls to a record of 1-1.

In the first half, TMU struck early with a goal by Ariana Marfell in the ninth minute off an assist from Erin Ward. The Lady Bears extended their lead in the 15th minute as Anabel Trauschke connected with Saige Peterson to make it 2-0. The Eagles responded late in the half with a goal of their own, cutting the margin to 2-1 heading into the break.
 
TMU kept the pressure on in the second half, finding the back of the net twice in quick succession. Joanna Funes scored in the 56th minute, followed just a minute later by Isabella Hodson, who capitalized on a setup from Trauschke. The Eagles threatened with a late attempt, but keeper Danica Wittman came up with a key save to seal the Lady Bears 4-1 victory.
 
Funes led the way with one goal and three shots all on goal. Trauschke followed with one goal and one assist, while Marfell and Hodson had one goal apiece. Keeper Whittman tallied six saves on the evening.
