CLEVELAND, Ga. (April 12, 2025) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University softball team hosted the University of Pikeville for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears swept UPike 3-0 in game one and 5-2 in game two. TMU rises to an overall record of 27-13, 18-8 AAC.

GAME ONE
TMU 3 – UPIKE 0
In game one, TMU scored first in the second inning with a sacrifice fly by
Hailey Cronic that proved capable of sending
Cassie Boatright home (1-0).
Abby Reed continued the action in the second with an RBI double to center field, putting TMU up by two (2-0). TMU scored their final run of the evening in the fifth with an RBI double to left center by
Kyndall Gipson, sealing the deal on a Lady Bears win, 3-0.

LEADERS
Cronic led the way going 2-2 at the plate with one RBI. Boatright followed with one RBI and one run, while Gipson and Reed all tallied RBIs. Pitcher Gipson was featured recording four strikeouts on the evening to pitch a complete shut-out game.Â

GAME TWO
TMU 5 – UPIKE 2
Game two started off once more with a sacrifice fly by Gipson in the first (1-0). The score held firm until the fifth inning when a double by Gipson allowed
Isabelle Sullivan to run home.
Grace Folds kept the momentum going with a three RBI double to left center scoring Cronic,
Rachel Morgan and Gipson. A final homerun by the opposing team in the seventh, attempted to change the outcome of the game but was ultimately unable to stop a Lady Bears win, 5-2.
